Tom Walsh Inducted into the 2023 WPA Hall of Fame

August 2023 - The Wisconsin Pork Association Hall of Fame Award recognizes an outstanding individual who has demonstrated a long-time commitment to the Wisconsin State Fair in the open and junior shows, and who has developed a quality swine breeding program.
This year’s Hall of Fame inductee was Tom Walsh of Beloit, WI. Tom is a member of Walsh Family Farm and has exhibited at the Wisconsin State Fair and other national shows for over six decades. Tom has been instrumental in the continuation of the farm’s purebred Hampshire and Yorkshire herds and has enhanced the farm’s breeding program for over forty-five years. The herd’s female genetics continue to produce quality breeding stock resulting in winners at all levels of competition.
For nearly fifty years, Tom has shown a commitment to both the Wisconsin State Fair open and junior shows. He has a passion for developing quality genetics for the younger generations and has dedicated his time to youth and their swine projects by providing scholarships, awards, developing a youth incentive program for their farm, and
volunteering his time at the local county fair.
Tom was recognized during the Hampshire show at Wisconsin State Fair Swine Barn on Sunday, August 6th, 2023, along with past Hall of Fame inductees. We would like to congratulate Tom on this prestigious award, wish him and his family the best of luck in the future, and thank him for his contributions to the Wisconsin swine industry!
